Charity Auction for Lawrence & Melissa Stone

On February 6th, Melissa Stone, along with her baby boy and 2-year-old daughter, were in a horrible car accident in Utah.  Melissa sustained critical injuries; Baby Edward only had a couple of cuts on his head; but 2-year-old Ethne didn't survive.

Lawrence Stone, Melissa's husband, grew up in my neighborhood.  His sister is currently running a charity auction on Facebook to help raise funds for their medical and funeral expenses.  If you are interested and can help, please go to Facebook and take a look at all the wonderful items people have donated for the auction.  She is taking bids until Wednesday, February 22nd.

Here are some of the items Lucky Lark Designs donated, but there are so many other items as well, including hair bows, inspirational posters, gift baskets, Mary Kay and Avon products, handmade hats, aprons, socks, and jewelry.  The list goes on and on.  If you aren't interested in the auction, or don't have a Facebook page, you can still donate money on the family's blog here.

Thanks for your help and prayers in behalf of this wonderful little family!

Costume Contest Winners and 6-Midnight Layouts

We had such a great time at our 6-Midnight crop last weekend!  Thank you to everyone who participated!  We truly appreciate all of you!

Remember how we had a "Guess our Costumes" contest?  Well, we put all the correct answers into a hat and pulled out a name.  Karen Beagley was the winner and took home a prize packet of scrappin' goodies.  Thanks for playing!

Candi stumped everyone with her costume.  She was Aggie Cromwell from Disney's Halloweentown.  I know...the walkie talkies threw everyone off (but I guess that was the point)  ;)  I haven't seen Halloweentown, but apparently the character carries mummy walkie talkies at some point in the show.

If you know Kathy well, her costume shouldn't have been hard to figure out.  She loves to collect Raggedy Ann dolls and that's what she dressed up as.  Here's another photo of her explaining one of the games.  Aren't the striped socks the best?!

This may be hard to believe, but since I was in high school, I've had a secret desire to be in a rock band.  So Halloween was an excellent excuse to play the part, even if it was just pretend.  I don't sing, but would love to learn how to play the guitar.  It's on my bucket list.  :)

Vicky Hanson was the winner of our costume contest.  She said it wasn't hard to come up with this, since she already had everything at home.  She came decked out in a Packers jersey, earrings, necklaces, hat, pom poms, and towel.  What you don't see are the  socks, T-shirt, and jacket.  What a good sport!

I just realized that we never posted the layouts from our 6-midnight kit.  If you are still working on putting them together, here they are:

Here is a bonus layout using scraps from the kit and the large punch-out letters:

Thanks again to everyone who participated!  We had a great time!  Stay tuned for information on our winter crop, coming up after the holidays.
